Our waitress was excellent. Very friendly and checked in with us at each course (mussel + main meal) to see how we were doing. Really enjoyed our food. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
I was checking out Peggys Cove but decided to drive a bit further East and ran into Shaw’s Landing. I got their fish and chips and was shocked at how fresh it was. They caught the fish that day and served it. I’ve never had such fresh fish in my life but then again I’m from Barrie/Toronto. Presentation was excellent. I sat outside in their patio that overlooks the beautiful lake. The tables were already spaced out before COVID. Eve if you go by yourself you’ll have a pleasant experience. I will be returning.
Amazing food, relaxed casual atmosphere, friendly personnel!!! Ordered chowder and haddock with Caesar salad. Chowder creaminess was well balanced and loaded with seafood. Perfect temperature and visually appealing. 8 dollars for a cup of good size. Fish and salad were simply perfect, with light seasoning, not greasy, fresh and supper yummy!!! Waitress Tia did an amazing job by offering suggestions based on my wishes and accommodating everything to my specifications. Polite, personable and friendly!!! Would come back. The only drawback is the market price of their lobster at $29 Canadian dollar a pound it cannot compared to $7 next door in Maine, US. But I guess market forces in Canada are beyond restaurants control, at least on macro level. So would come back again if in the area!!!
We came in embarrassingly close to closing time after getting a little carried away exploring at Peggy's Cove (appreciated the 'hangry' sign in the entryway - definitely fitting!!!). Despite our late arrival, we were treated wonderfully and the food was to die for!! (HUGE portions, and reasonable pricing) Staff was fabulous and very accomodating, and made a KILLER Caesar too!! This location is a short drive from Peggy's Cove and SOO nice and peaceful...well worth the drive!
Amazing place, food, staff, and service.. The prices and the portions are amazing..Can't wait to go back again..If you like seafood this is your place.
We've been meaning to stop in for a meal and today was the day. The parking lot was pretty full but we got a friendly greeting and a table on the deck. Quickly chose cups of chowder and a fish cake meal to share. Shared a locally brewed beer as well. Wow. Everything was perfect. Best fishcakes I have ever tasted and I LIVE in Nova Scotia! The chowder was rich and full of delicious fish and seafood. When we left there was a lineup and the parking lot was packed. All the staff are relaxed, personable and prompt. Attentive but not annoying. No one looked frazzled and all patrons looked happy. Every plate full of food that passed by looked great so we'll be back soon! The location is very peaceful and scenic - right on the ocean.
Best Burger I've had in Nova Scotia. Hands down. Great beef to bun ratio. Nice texture to the burger, perfect amount of fat. Soft bun. The bacon and fried onions really topped it off. Just amazing. Great service. Worth the drive from Dartmouth.
The fried fresh clams were delicious and the fish and chips... top notch! Lightly battered and super fresh. What a catch this place is! Highly recommend grabbing some takeaway if you pass by on your way to Peggy's cove!
Amazing place. The deck is private and overlooks the ocean. The food is great and the entertainment was wonderful (seagulls)😍 lol
Ok they have the recipe for a great view and seafood. We were on a See Food Diet too. Fish and Chips of course but we also saw Oysters, mussels and even scallops. You guessed it we ate those too. We were not disappointed.
Excellent service and great food. One of the most beautiful views in the province of Nova Scotia. West Dover is a real-working fishing town and photos of the seven local fishermen are on the wall as you go in. I must emphasize how pleasant it is to go to a restaurant and not be bombarded by one ideological agenda or another everywhere you look. At Shaw’s Landing, whether you align left or right, you can enjoy a meal without having to think about politics. It’s sad I know, but this is an important priority for me now when considering dining options. It is for this reason that I will return soon to Shaw’s Landing. Marvelous!
Perfect lunch destination on a sunny south shore day. After 3 months of lockdown, we needed this! Great seafood (I mean Damn good), great service and wonderful view down the harbour - doesn't get any better than this folks.
Beautiful place, great food, excellent service!
